Bee

I found a poem from third grade that I wrote. I remember at the time I was very proud of this poem. I thought I wrote the best poem there ever was, it was deep, thoughtful, and descriptive.

Here is the poem:

Bee with your huge round eyes
Silver wings
and
striped body
You land on my arm
Soft as can be
It looks up at me
So harmless
Who would hurt a bee?
The bee lifts itself off me
"Find nectar"
I tell it as I leave.

  1. Huh, I remember something about bee's I wrote in second grade. It was about a giant bee that was trying to kill me. Also (disclaimer) it's not the best poem. Sorry.

  2. You post this and I remember lunch today. A bunch of Lowe IS age kids were either getting freaked out by a wasp or commenting on how cute it was... until it went near them. Then they joined the freaking-out group, which you clearly didn't. Nice poem! It's cool you were able to find something from that far back. In 2nd grade all my writing was either about cats or dragons, so it's by definition really bad.

  3. This is a really interesting poem, and good for that age. For your next slice you could try to re write it now. Nice slice!
